Simple, inexpensive and versatile, the pillow bag remains one of the most popular and generally used flexible packaging bag styles in various industries these days. Using a bottom, top and/or back seal, this packaging is usually formed on a vertical packaging machine from a continuous roll of paper or flexible packaging film. To create a pillow bag a producer first of all needs to have a vertical packaging machine. Furthermore the packaging film is guided over a forming tube that creates the pillow shape. The outer edges of the film overlap around the forming tube and a vertical seal bar bonds the film together, which creates the back seal. To finish, a horizontal sealing bar then creates the bottom seal.
